Individual bones in your back are separated by spinal discs to make up vertebrae, which make up your spine. The spinal discs are made of a jelly-like interior fluid protected by a tough exterior. The discs are thought of as a cushion because of their softness. This cushion allows the spinal column to absorb shock and pressure.
Unfortunately, these discs can become inflamed and put pressure on nerves around the spinal cord, which is what we call a slipped, or bulging, disc. These bulging discs can cause excruciating pain and discomfort in your back and can even burst to create a herniation. It can cause intense pain when a disc bursts, but it is possible to not be aware of a herniated disc. The most common signs and symptoms include:
Pain in the rear
Arm or leg pain
Numbness or tingling
Unless you have a major injury, most people find it hard for the exact reason of a herniated disc. A few common causes are degenerating disc disease, improper use of muscles, traumatic impact, and repetitive movement.
